Inspiration TF is dedicated to my mother who went to be with God on June 25, 1993. Inspiration: "a divine influence directly and immediately exerted upon the mind or soul of man." (eg. the Spirit of God, breathed into man)
Trying to come up with names for programs is one of the most fun parts of the
job. In the case of this program, I tried to correlate the idea of bringing
descriptions for files into the SitC resource of a file to something that reminds me of God.
In the book of Acts, the disciples went to the Upper Room to pray, and wait
for God to bring the counselor Jesus spoke of. While praying, the Holy Spirit
came upon them, and filled them - a new Spirit had been breathed into them.
In the same way, you and I today can receive this same Spirit of God when we
wait on him for direction. It is my hope and prayer that you will consider
the salvation Christ has presented to you - the hope for good things that can
only come from God, and the peace that comes from knowing Him.
Inspiration TF (the program <grin>) is very simple. Here's how I used it:
1. I had a TEXT file containing a file name, followed by a short description. The name is seperated from the description by a tab. See the Files.BBS file for an example. File names must match the names in your TEXT file _exactly_, case and all.
2. I ran Inspiration TF. It first prompted me for any TEXT file containing the file names and descriptions - I chose Files.BBS. Next, after loading up to 300k of file name & description data, it began "inspiring" the descriptions into the files (which must be present in the same folders as the Files.BBS text).
I ran this process on several folders-full of files and had excellent success. Caps (lower/upper) and naming errors simply cause Inspiration TF to not install a description - no harm done if you have a typo in there. The included Files.BBS TEXT file and "Example Conversion files..." are here so you can experiment before using your own files.
